Pestle & Mortar Exfoliate Toner Review

dav

The main thing I was very conscious about on my face were my blackheads, so with a bit of research, I read that glycolic acid helps to get rid of them. It was meant to be, as that same week, the Pestle & Mortar Exfoliate Toner arrived as a new product in work.

On Pestle & Mortar website, it states the following about this product:

Exfoliate is a gentle yet effective glycolic acid toner which evens-out skin tone, brightens the complexion, tightens pores and promotes skin cell renewal. With a free acid-value of 6.8% and a pH of 3.8, Exfoliate is suitable for all skin types and delivers instant skin benefits. Formulated with skin brightening and toning ingredients, Exfoliate diminishes dullness to deliver a glowing and rejuvenated complexion.

This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. We recommend wearing a daily SPF when using products containing glycolic acid.

You can use this product every night after cleansing your skin. My skin can be sensitive to some products, so the first night I used this, I felt a tingling sensation. I didn’t use it the following evening incase it was too much for my skin, so I used it every second evening instead. After around two weeks, I was able to use this every evening with no tingling sensation now. I have been using the Pestle & Mortar Exfoliate for two months now and I have definetly noticed the majority of my blackpores have gone. I had some large pores and this has definetly tightened them up. My skin has been looking more rejuvenated since too. To be honest, after years of seeing blachheads along my nose and chin area, it is odd just seeing pores instead of blackheads now, but I mean that in a good way obviously.

If you are someone who suffers with large pores & blackheads, & want brighter & fresher skin, I would definetly recommend the Pestle & Mortar Exfoliate. If you are going to use this product, make sure you are using an SPF daily, as it can increase your skin sensitivity to the sun and may cause sunburn. I purchased mine for €28 in McGorisks Pharmacy in Athlone Town Center.
